Dr. Marie L. Kogler |
Applied Computational Methods
Researcher in System Sciences
I am a systems scientist and currently researching and teaching at the Institute of Environmental Systems Science at the University of Graz. My work focuses on applied computational methods such as computational social sciences, network science, NLP, and data sciences. By applying these methods, I study complex systems and their interactions, especially in the context of environmental issues and social dynamics. On this page you will find information about my current projects, publications and other activities.
Activities
My interests include media analysis on topics like climate change, climate protection, and politics, particularly focusing on threat and solution orientation in content and linguistics. Using mixed methods, I combine quantitative machine learning with qualitative text interpretation. Additionally, I model the CO2 footprint in mobility. Another area of interest is the diffusion of opinions and emotions in societies, along with analyzing social networks and their resilience.
